The Non-Credit Instruction template in Faculty Success is a long one. Learning which fields you can ignore (and which you cannot) will ensure that your records sort correctly in your reports. Multiple colleges at OSU use this instance of Faculty Success and vary in their information needs. This video – representative of the needs of the College of Agriculture, the College of Forestry and Extension - will give you some pointers. Records documenting guest lectures in scheduled classes at OSU or at other institutions are also created on this template. See the training resource Documenting Guest Lectures to learn how to create such records.
Complete all fields in the Non-Credit Instruction template from “Title of Instruction” through “Collaborative Effort.” Find definitions and addition help by clicking on the black circles with a question mark.
Add additional instructor names, if appropriate. View the Managing a List of Names training resource if necessary.
Complete the fields “Delivery Type” through “Gross Program Revenue.” If the program generated no revenue, leave this field blank.
Leave the fields in the guest lecture section blank.
Ideally, the title of the instruction will be sufficiently clear so that there is no need to describe it.
Add Inclusivity and Carnegie contributions as appropriate.
Enter dates and save the record.
