Screen: Student Committees

1. Add D.V.M. to Student Degree Sought

Why:  Missing this value

2. Add Student Awards field for use on CV report

Why: The comments field on this screen has useful and less useful info for generating a CV.  We are adding a field specifically to document Student Awards they earn during their degree-completion process.  This information will be output on the faculty CV report, as it is a reflection on the contribution of the individual faculty member on student success.

Screen: Non-Credit Instruction

1. Add Collaborative Effort data points to non-credit instruction screen.

Why: This field is needed to correctly generate a CV based on OSU faculty senate guidelines, and is especially applicable to Extension faculty with field appointments.

2. Change the text label for Description to “Description of Non-Credit Instruction”

Why: Clarify wording and separate from the new description of collaboration box to be used in CV reports.

3. Add fields to track non-credit instruction associated with credit courses.

Why: activities like guest lecture need to be tracked and reported on and should be linked to a course.

Screen: Professional

1. Add role of P&T Dossier Review to Position/Role dropdown

Why: These reviews can be a significant service contribution for some faculty; this role will contribute to the CV report based on OSU faculty senate guidelines.

Screen: Scheduled Teaching (summary screen

1. Modify the summery screen to clearly identify courses taught an another institution.

Why: These records are not clear on the summary screen

  • Modify line 1 to be: [TYT_TERM] [TYY_YEAR] (If [INSTIUTION], “– [INSTITUTION]”)

 2. Unhide “Team or collaborative effort”

Why: this attribute is important for CV generation

  • Unhide [TEAMEFFORT]

 3. Change Course Prefix (Crosslisted) to text box

Why: this field can’t be a drop down as we aren’t maintaining these values.  They’ll be pushed from Banner.

  • Course Prefix (Crosslisted) [XCOURSEPRE] change from drop down to text box.
  • Populate existing value from dropdown into converted text box.

 4. Add Department Media Rating to SETs

Why: Must be able to document department SET scores for CV

  • Add – Department Median Rating #1 (All Courses) [DEPT_RATING1] below [RESPONSE_COUNT]
  • Add – Department Median Rating #2 (Course Level) [DEPT_RATING2] below [DEPT_RATING1]
  • In Student Evaluation of Teaching group, add the following
    • Dept. Q3 Course objectives [DEPT_RATING3], between Q3 Course objectives and Colleg-Q3 Course objectives
    • Repeat Q4-11

 

Screen: Publications

1. Add Abstract as publication type to pubs screen.

Why: it must be

Screen: New Course Development

1. Change the Course Prefix from a dropdown to a text box to allow any kind of course

Why: OSU Can’t maintain a dropdown list of all course prefixes for OSU. Also need to support course prefixes from other institutions. 

  • Change [COURSEPRE] to text box
    • Copy all values into text area
    • Copy all values from [COURSEPRE_OTHER] into [COURSEPRE]
  • Delete [COURSEPRE_OTHER]

 

2. Rename text fields

Why: Improve flow and faculty comprehension

    • Change Text Label to “Describe any pedagogical innovations introduced.”
    • Add Help text “Examples: international issues, computer applications, ethical analysis, new classroom techniques.
    • [TECHMAT]
      • Change Text Label to “Describe any teaching material developed or implemented.”
      • Add help text: “Examples: cases, videotapes, audiotapes, course modules, instructor manuals, test banks, or simulations.”
