Screen: Contracts, Grants and Research
1. Screen updates to streamline and add wording to meet OSU specific language
Why: After reviewing screen with operations and business center members, the following changes are requested
Requested by: Linda Brewer
Contract – An agreement for services to be performed for the funder. Contracts are usually specific about objectives, outcomes, costs, or methods.
Fellowship – Awards that support recipients’ living expenses, tuition/fees, and other related research costs
Grant – - An agreement that provides money, property, or materials for a stated purpose. The funder does not specify the manner of the work performance and is not involved in it.
Other Sponsored Research – Grants that are not basic or applied research, such as teaching grants or other.
Gift – Cash/pledge deposited into OSU or a foundation account, OR value of good or service provided
Service Revenue – E&G, PACE, Testing Services, Workshops, Industry Services
Royalty – total royalty including PI, University and OCCD funds
2. Remove Index
Why: DM is not system of record and info isn’t useful for CV
3. Add field to track competitive awards
Why: Important info for CV’s and reporting
4. Update Awarding Organization
Why: need additional options and help text to meet OSU needs
Federal – including all sub-awards from federal agencies
Oregon State University – awards from OSU, including professional development
Private – Awards from a private organization or company
Commission – Awards from a commission
State – Awards from the state of Oregon
Other University – Awards from another university that are not a federal pass through
Other Government - Awards from county, local, or any other Oregon government agencies
Other – Anything not meeting criteria
5. Reorganize amounts fields
Why: Moving fields to improve data entry flow.
6. Clarify Dates
Why: Add text to clarify when/if field needs to be filled out.
7. Rename Abstract
Why: Minor wording change to reflect that this screen is used for more than grants.
8. Update Current Status
Why: modify values to clarify wording
9. Restrict field to CPHHS only
Why: CoF doesn’t want to see this field.
10. Remove Fields
Why: These fields aren’t used and have no impact for CV reports
11. Investigators DSA
Why: These fields should be moved toward the bottom to improve the flow of the screen. We will also move a field into this DSA and unify some values.
